Explore Your Ikagai, Align Your Purpose, Live with Meaning

For the living on purpose movement the Ikagai concept has become popular again. Ikagai is the Japanese concept meaning “reason for being”, or “a meaningful purpose in life”, all short for LIFE PURPOSE. Ikagai represents the intersection of four fundamental, or core elements.

The four elements are:

  • What you love (Passion)
  • What you are good at (Vocation)
  • What the world needs (Mission)
  • What you can be paid for (Profession)

When these four elements align, you find a deep sense of purpose, fulfilment, and direction. Typically this understanding comes to individuals over time, with a lot of self-evaluation and monitoring. This process however can be sped up with the right tools and also with coaching.
